Krusty the Clown MissionJune 29th, 2008
Decided to go ahead and continue with another one of my artistic sketches, which happens to be Krusty the Clown this time. Took about 24 cans of paint and 2 hours work despite the crappy never ending mud pit i had to stand in while doing my peace. I kept sinking deeper and deeper as i was working and had to keep trowing down stick to stand on. Also ran out of orange and should have done a white base under it to stand out better. Made the head a little round and weird-ish but then again im no pro yet, but for the time being it came out alright. Next time i expect to have some more legit stuff.
Windows XP SP3May 16th, 2008
For those of you who don’t know about the update or what it does, here’s a brief summary. Windows XP (SP3) build 5512 is the 3rd and final investment Microsoft is probably going to make and invest in for XP since they are shoving Vista down every new computer Manufacturer’s throat. The update didn’t include a whole lot of updates most common users will find useful, then again those most common users probably wouldn’t be reading my blog either. The main features that were included were as follows: Black Hole router detections (Black hole routers may dump packets above a certain size when you are trying to traverse a path to a server and render your server unresponsive), Network Access Protection (A technology created by Microsoft in the efforts of controlling network access of a computer host based on the system health of the host), Windows Imaging Compenant (Basically a advanced Component Object Model based imaging codec framework introduced in Windows Vista for working with and processing digital images and image metadata), Credentials security service provider, Descriptive Security options in Group Policy/Local Security Polic, Microsoft Kernel Mode Cryptographic Module, and thankfully a very useful tool, Installing without requiring a product key during setup for retail and OEM versions. That’s basically the only really useful concept for most of the average users in my opinion. Don’t worry about getting this version if your fretting over it, its basically some fancy updates so that XP is more compatibility with Windows Vista in the security and mostly the networking area’s so the two operating systems work fluent with each other.
Google Andriod Phone ExplainedMay 13th, 2008
A lot of people threw around the thoughts and rumors that Google was designing there own phone to compete with Apple's iPhone (the G-phone). What actually is going on is Google is making a open source platform that will be used on cell phone's called "Android". This in my opinion if you have looked at the video explaining it here seems like they are trying to compete with Apple's attempt in certain and specific area's such as the Google Maps application on the iPhone, Which would explain why the two are so similar, and the zooming in feature for multi-touch interaction. Basically now Google is making Android a downloadable and public SDK since it is open source, and they want the public to start designing them applications to be able to use on the Android platform. Applications in Android are written using the Java programming language and run on Dalvik, a custom virtual machine designed for embedded use which runs on top of a Linux kernel. There will be $10,000,000 dollars worth of rewards to who ever designs the best applications. Whats really nice about the Android platform is that Google has integrated OpenGL ES 1.0 specification into it so that very nice graphical user interface can be implemented from the menu's to even games like you can see in the video i mentioned earlier. And unlike alot of phones, Android will support a variety of formats such as MPEG4, H.264, MP3, AAC, AMR, JPG, PNG, GIF, which promises to be able to let you share your media even easier. Also something new i have never seen a phone use is SQLite for there structured data storage inside the OS. I wasn't even aware it was possible to use that on a mobile platform like Android until now, ive been to use to using it on my server. Check out a screen shot of the Android running on a phone (not sure what kind, non-brand, but i do wish i knew so i could get one) here.
